2020 Financial To Do List

This is the last Friday Money Inspiration of this decade. Can you believe this year is already complete and we are entering into a new decade?

Ponder and reflect back over the last 10 years. Where were you financially in 2009 to now. How did you improve up until now? What are some things that you still need to work on? Do you know where you want to be financially in the next 5, 10 15, 20 years from now?
To have 20/20 vision is to be able to see clearly, whether things are near or far away. The goal of Friday Money Inspirations started by sister, Shana Brown, is for you to have 20/20 vision in the year 2020 – to see clearly how to strengthen your financial life both in the short term and longer term.

While you seek out your 20/20 vision I encourage to keep in mind that managing money well is about honoring God by becoming a faithful and wise steward of what God has entrusted to you – it all belongs to him!
In 2009, I was engaged to my wife, Leslie, and no kids yet. I’m grateful for the provisions of God enlarging our territory with expansion of a family during the course of the decade with three boys.

We have made several financial mistakes however we have made more smart financial choices over the mistakes and that’s where it all counts.

When I watch my oldest son (Avery) get new LEGO’s the best part is his excitement about building something from scratch. He’s not focused on the end result. He’s not worrying about how perfect it will look in the end. He’s in the moment, building with excitement and pure joy and loving the journey. Often times in our “adulthood” we lose the joy of building and being in the moment. Imagine the story you’ll have to share when you reach your ultimate goal. Why not let 2020 be that year!  Learn to enjoy the process without ruining it with the need to see how it all turns out. Love the process and you’ll love what the process produces.
